Invercauld Estate
Invercauld Estate extends across around 95,000 acres of the eastern Cairngorms, encompassing mountains, woodland, farmland, rivers and the communities around Braemar and Ballater. Project 404 designed and developed a bespoke WordPress website that brings together the estate’s work in forestry, farming, conservation, property, tourism and land management, alongside community information, local business listings, residential and commercial lettings, visitor content and a small online shop.
We continue to provide ongoing maintenance, technical support and content updates, and also work with Invercauld Estate across a number of its other online businesses and digital projects.

The Project
Project 404 designed and developed a bespoke WordPress website for Invercauld Estate, creating a clear and flexible digital platform for an organisation whose responsibilities extend well beyond traditional estate management.
The site brings together the estate’s work in forestry, farming, conservation, property, tourism and land management, while also providing practical information for residents, local businesses and visitors. Dedicated community pages highlight local organisations, businesses and services, reflecting Invercauld’s wider role in supporting the communities of Braemar and Ballater. Our work in the same area also includes Braemar Caravan Park, helping visitors plan and book stays in Royal Deeside.
Property is another important part of the site, with information on residential and commercial lets, farms, workshops and other opportunities across the estate. We also incorporated a small online shop, giving Invercauld a straightforward way to sell publications and other products directly online.
Alongside the commercial and community content, the site explains Invercauld’s long-term approach to stewardship, including sustainable forestry, habitat management, access and conservation.
Project 404 continues to provide ongoing maintenance, content updates and technical support for the website, while also working with Invercauld Estate across a number of its other online businesses and digital projects. This broader relationship allows us to provide consistent support across the estate’s wider digital presence.
“I was impressed how Tim worked with us when he renewed our website. He listened to what we wanted to achieve and used his technical skills to deliver this, rather than trying to make us fit a preconceived format. Tim has always been quick and responsive to update the website when we needed this after it was launched, which has been just as important.”
