The North East 250
The North East 250 needed a website capable of promoting one of Scotland’s most varied touring regions while supporting hundreds of businesses along the route. Working closely with VisitScotland, the result is a bespoke WordPress platform combining destination content, searchable listings, route information and editorial features in one clear, responsive website, supported by ongoing development, maintenance and SEO from Project 404.

The Project
Project 404 designed and developed a bespoke WordPress website for the North East 250, creating a flexible tourism platform able to showcase the route itself while also supporting a large network of participating businesses.
The site combines detailed regional content with searchable business listings, interactive route information and dedicated sections covering accommodation, food and drink, history and heritage, nature, outdoor activities, arts and culture, organised tours and visitor services. Individual business listings can include contact details, imagery, descriptive content and direct links to the business’s own website.
The website also includes regularly updated editorial content and destination information designed to encourage visitors to explore more of the north-east, from Speyside and the Cairngorms to Royal Deeside, Aberdeen and the Moray coast. This includes destinations and visitor businesses such as Braemar Caravan Park.
We continue to support and develop the site with ongoing maintenance, content updates, technical support and SEO work, helping the platform evolve alongside the route and the businesses it promotes.
