Ballindalloch Castle and Gardens
Ballindalloch Castle has been the family home of the Macpherson-Grants since 1546 and is widely known as the “Pearl of the North”, with a reputation as one of Scotland’s most beautiful and distinctive historic castles. Project 404 designed and developed a bespoke WordPress website that brings together almost 500 years of family history with practical visitor information and the wider story of the estate. The site covers the Castle, gardens, visitor facilities, walks, family activities, the wider Highland Estate, award-winning golf course and Ballindalloch Distillery, while making it easy for visitors to plan and book their visit.

The Project
Project 404 designed and developed a bespoke WordPress website for Ballindalloch Castle, creating a clear and engaging online presence for one of Speyside’s best-known historic visitor attractions.
The site brings together detailed information on the Castle’s history, architecture and interiors with practical visitor content covering opening times, tickets, directions, walks, younger visitors, the Courtyard Café and Gift Shop. Online booking is integrated into the visitor journey, helping people move easily from discovering the Castle to planning their visit.
The website also gives greater prominence to the wider Ballindalloch Estate, including its gardens, woodland, riverside walks and connections with Ballindalloch Distillery, helping visitors understand the broader estate as part of the experience rather than seeing the Castle in isolation.
We continue to support the site with ongoing maintenance, updates, seasonal visitor information and technical support, helping ensure it remains a useful and reliable resource for both first-time and returning visitors.
