Cardiacs are a British rock band renowned for their unconventional music, eccentric presentation and fiercely loyal international following. Operated by The Alphabet Business Concern, their official website brings together the band’s music, history, news and an extensive archive of photographs, interviews, stories and live performances.
Project 404 designed and developed the official website and online shop, creating a distinctive digital presence that reflects the band’s unique identity. Combining e-commerce functionality, intuitive navigation and an extensive historical archive, the site provides a central hub for fans to explore the world of Cardiacs, discover their music and purchase official releases and merchandise.

The Project
Project 404 worked with Cardiacs and The Alphabet Business Concern to design, develop and refine the band’s official website, creating a more accessible and organised platform without compromising its distinctive character and unconventional identity.
A key part of the project involved restructuring and presenting an extensive collection of content, including the band’s history, interviews, photographs, stories and archival material. Dedicated sections were developed to help visitors explore the band’s extraordinary history while making it easier to discover previously published material.
We also designed and built the band’s online shop, creating a dedicated retail platform for music, merchandise and other releases. The shop was designed to complement the main website, providing a consistent visual identity and a straightforward shopping experience for fans around the world.
Particular attention was given to navigation, usability and content presentation, balancing the band’s unmistakable personality with the practical requirements of a modern website and online store.
